Hale Haumea
Hale Haumea was founded by Kumu Akahi Hāwane Paʻa Makekau in 2020. Hale Haumea is a woman led collective of cultural bearers reclaiming sovereignty of the mind, body, spirit through liberating the divine frequency of the voice with prayer, chant, and ceremony. Hāwane has over 30 years of traditional hula, hoʻopaʻa, and oli training. She has reached a level of mastery in various chanting styles and has established herself as one of her generation's premier composers in both traditional and evolving styles of haku mele.
